Life from a Microscope
From reading Catcher in the Rye, watching Into the Wild, and the annotating the Thoreau I have come to a conclusion. All three have something in common. The concept that you should “Live the life you’ve imagined” (Thoreau quote).
Holden Coofeild looks at life differently then the average person. Some people may look down upon him and some may actually be able to under stand him. He is a pessimistic with an out view on life that is mostly all negative. Phoebe to Holden: “You don’t like anything that’s happening . . .. You don’t like any schools. You don’t like a million things. You don’t”(pg169). This shows how he really does hate almost everything. Alexnander Spertramp(Chris) on the other had has a different out look on life. They are both smilar to yet completely different at the same time. He is only trying to make the best out of his life. Throughout his journey to Alaska he finds happynes and love in many people on his way. On Holdens Journy he mostly finds people and things he hates. So you might think at first glance that they are complete opposites but youd be supprised.
For Example both Holden and Alexander both just want to be alone most of the time. Holden wants to be alone mostly because he cant stand being around “phonies” and he would rather be in a peacefull state of mind alone. "I was the only one left in the tomb then. I sort of liked it, in a way. It was so nice and peaceful"(pg.204). Alexanders main goal in the movie is to be completely alone in the alaskin wilderness. Therefore he thinks that being alone will bring him peace and pure happyness.
Another example of how these two are very much alike is how they both don’t give a damn about money. Holden claims he want to move out in to a little log cabbin and work at a gass station for little pay. He says, "Goddam money. It always ends up making you blue as hell"(pg.113). For Alexander money is no aspect eather. His only paycheck comes from burger king, which he uses just to help him get closer to his destination of alaska.
In addition, they both belive that people treat life like a game that has rules. Holen hates being the same as everyone else and hates playing by the rules. "Life being a game and all. And how you should play it according to the rules"(pg.8) Alexander also thinks there should be rules in life. He belives you shold step put of your comfort box and live your life to the fullest. An example of this is when he tells the old man to get outta his house and off his but and do something with his life!
My last quote is :
"Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody"(pg.214)
I am going to explain how they both figure out in the end that “ true happiness is only real when shared” they bother realize this concept at the end of each story.

Your intro and conclusion need a bit of work. They don't flow. Also you shouldnt put things like "my last quote is.." Just say your last quote. It makes it more professional. Also spell check everything. other then that your good. oh and look up Holdens last name.
in most formal essay writing you can avoid phrases like "i have come to the conclusion" and "i think."
it should read, phoebe says to holden, " "
it's tough to tell how this is formatted, but make sure to use paragraph breaks to organize your writing.
there are a number of grammatical errors that need to be fixed. make sure to proofread and read aloud.
i'm not sure what your thesis is. make sure you yourself can identify it.
also, avoid things like, "my last quote is..."
good start, Sahara.
I think you connected Holden to Chris very well. You picked quotes which were the most descriptive of Holden, i liked that, it felt like you were telling me new things about Chris and Holden you couldn't get from the reading.
"So you might think at first glance that they are complete opposites but youd be supprised." (you)
This was a really good way to end the paragraph, the transition to the new paragraph is smooth and makes you want to keep reading.
